Braylee Anna turned 3 on July 10th! I can't believe she's growing up so fast. She's so fun...and of course challenging at times! She has such the cutest little personality and says the funniest things. She loves to sing, dance, ride her bike, play make-up and dress-up, and her most favorite thing is to get into Taysen's stuff :-) I can't imagine life without my little girl!

Glenn and Rachels Wedding in Vegas!

Jareds sister Rachel and her now hubby Glenn got married in Vegas on May 2nd. It was SUCH a beautiful wedding! I got to be a bridesmaid, Braylee was a flower girl, Tays a ring boy, and Jared performed the ceremony and did great! They make an awesome couple and we're so happy Glenn has joined the family....and that someone will be giving our kids some cousins ;-) There are tons of pics... their photographers were amazing and it was hard to narrow it down!!

When I lived in California when I was a teenager I had my besties Tisha and Heather. They are twins.We did everything together! Our favorite thing to do was make silly movies and commercials with their parents video camera. After I moved to UT we'd talk on the phone a lot. When I moved out of my parents house, we'd lose touch and Tisha would call my parents house and get my number. Well my parent moved and her parents weren't listed so we lost touch. For years I tried calling numbers I found online and they'd be disconnected. FINALLY.... I got through to Heather, her twin, and she then got me in touch with Tisha! We hadn't seen eachother in something like 14 or 15 years! She and her family took a trip here to UT and I was sooo glad to see her! Nothing has changed we're still dorks together :-) This was clear back in ...March I think? Shows you how behind I am on blogging!!!

I can't believe our little Brannibear is already 6 months old! He has one little tooth on the bottom (you can see in some of the pics). He's such a good baby. Mellow and happy. He rolls all over the floor now. He's still not sleeping through the night... but I'm sure that will come soon.
I took him to his 6 month well check this week and he's 18 lbs and 28 inches long. That puts him in about the 60th percentile for weight and 90th for height. When we had these pictures taken by Casey, it was right after his Dr. appt. He had just gotten shots and was getting over a cold. The poor little honey kept laying his head down like he wanted to rest. Luckily we were able to get a couple of smiles out of him!

Oh Em Gee ... Am I a slacker or what?

Alright... I never get to post as many pics as I'd like but here are some. I plan to do more...who knows when! I love the pic of Jared holding Branners, look at his cute little double chin! He had his 4 month well check the other day. He's in the 50th percentile for weight and in the 90th for height!

A few days after Christmas we went to Thanksgiving point and ate at the Harvest. We didn't know they had the Reindeer there. The kids thought it was pretty cool! After we ate, the waitress brought our check and said "Happy Holidays". Braylee didn't miss a beat, she said "Happy Feet"...as in the movie. She cracks me up!

A couple of days after Christmas Em & I went boarding. Jared's sister Sherry went skiing, but she's a kick butt skier so she went and did her own thing. It was my first time out this year. Em & I had a blast!!

After boarding we came back to my house and played games with Jen, Em and Jareds fam. Jareds mom is so fun to play games with. We laugh a ton and she has the best laugh! Then Jen & I got a little goofy with Braylee's new toy food. Nothing new lol

Every year my aunt and uncle have an awesome Christmas party with all the cousins and everyone. My cute Grandpa wasn't able to come upstairs so we went to his room & took pics with him.

I got Braylee into dance class right before Branston was born. I was hoping it would help keep her occupied while we were at the hospital so much. She didn't like it much at first. But now I wonder if it just had something to do with all that was going on. Because she loves it now!

Halloween pics! During the day Braylee wanted to play outside. I asked her to get her shoes on. This is what happend instead HAHA! She cracks me up!

Finally a minute to post some pics! It's definitely and adjustment going from two kids to three. I feel like I'm finally starting to get the hang of it....not that I've perfected it yet :-) Blogger won't let me post the last 3 pics, it keeps saying "page cannot be displayed" ugh I don't love that!
Anyways...
I'm not sure how much Branners weighs now but he's getting bigger for sure! He has a well check on the 17th and I'm excited to see how much he's gained.
Today I took him with me to get my hair done and he was a little angel through highlights, a cut and styling! He was being a little ham and flirting it up with all the ladies :-) Showing off his cute dimples and all. Man those are hard to capture though! Here are the most recent pics of him. Hopefully soon I'll be able to post the bazillion pics that are piling up!

I figured some of you are probably curious of what his tummy looks like now. Pretty good eh?!!
Branston doesn't love being nakey! He flails (is that a word?) his little arms out and starts shrieking. Poor little honey sounds so scared! Looking at him I think he feels like he's falling!

Well, finally Branston and Braylee are sleeping at the same time and I have a moment to let you all know that BRANSTON IS HOME!! He came on the 8th and of course we are SOOOO glad he's home! He had to be sent home with a feeding tube which I had to put in (it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be) but we didn't need to use it because he was doing so well eating on his own so at his Dr. appt. the next day we got to take it out! :-) He's doing better than ever with his eating and taking even more than the minimum the dr's wanted him to take. He's such a sweet baby :-) I'll post pictures next time the 2 kids nap at the same time hehe I know I always say that and then forget...but I'll really try to remember this time haha!

Branston not in the NICU anymore...

Well he's still at Primarys but he's no longer in the NICU. He's now in the infant section. I have mixed feelings about it. He used to have a nurse right there at his side, now he's alone in a room :-( Like a regular hospital room. But it's good because that means he's doing better and since we have our own private room we can bring the kids up more! Today of his 60 ML of milk he took 32 ML from his bottle :-) he still has the feeding tube so that whatever he doesn't finish from his bottle they put in the tube. I guess now it's just the waiting game and making sure he's reached his goal of how much milk to take by bottle and gaining weight. Today he's 7lbs 9oz :-) and can you believe he's already 2 weeks old!?

So Branston graduated from the warmer bed to the awesome metal cribby :-) They do that when they are able to maintain their temperature and a few other things. He's been on the fentanyl only as needed but it's sad cuz if he goes all day without it he'll suddenly get uncomfortable and inconsolable. They've doubled the amount he's able to eat and he's doing pretty well! I think it probably just hurts his tummy a little. But he's not a spitter upper yet so that's good! I'm hoping & praying that things just keep progressing so little my little man can come home!!

Come to find out it really was just the taste of the tasteless pedialite! They mixed it with my milk half and half and he took it! I got to feed him two bottles yesterday. They said they might try straight milk today so I'm excited to go see how he's doing with that :-) He's still a little funny about latching on the the bottle. He'll latch and then poke it around with his tongue for a minute. But he's definitely getting the hang of it! We also got to see Branston wearing clothes for the first time, just a onesie. I'll post a picture later of his awesome "Flashdance" look. He has the pick line IV in his arm still so they couldn't put both arms in his onesie. Therefore he had the awesome top off one shoulder look going on HEHE :-)

Come to find out they actually give our lil guy pedialite (sp?) first before trying milk. And once he does well with that then they'll try the milk. When we got there to see him today the nurse was sitting in the rocker with him and he was sleeping. She said she'd been trying to get him to take the pedialite but he kept spitting it out! It's the flavorless kind so the flavor shouldn't be a problem. My guess is he's so used to his binky and not having anything come out, it's probably just weird to have a leaky binky! He's going to have to get used to swallowing and everything...even though it's only been 6 days he seems to be set in his ways...for now :-) I tried giving him the pedialite and his bottle had 6 ml. He spit out about 4, but while he was sleeping I was tricky and got him to take about 2 ml without spitting it out. Hey it's a start!
And I just want to say that I love the nurses at Primary Children's. They always answer all our questions in detail and let us help with taking care of our little honey in any way that we're able to. Branston couldn't be at a better place with better Dr's & nurses to take care of him right now :-)

Look Mommy! No tubies!!!

Branston hated that dang tube. The nurse said he'd gag on it when he'd wake up and when it'd suck the stuff out in his tummy he'd get so upset! I'm so glad it's gone and now he's so much more comfortable! Tomorrow they are going to try giving him a little milk and see how he does. I hope his little tummy can handle it cuz that will make him much closer to coming home!
I tried to post a video of him smiling but blogger is being weirdo. I'm sleepy so I'll try again tomorrow :-)

We've been wanting to see him with his eyes open, but it seems he and the nurses had a funny joke going and he'd wake up and open his eyes as soon as we left! Today he was a bright eyed little guy!

We can't get enough of the our little sweetness! Today we got to hold him for the first time since the day he was born. And even then I only got to hold him for about 2 minutes before they rushed him off to Primary's. Today I got to hold him for over 3 hours straight! :-)

Branston wants to come home!!

Branston must want to come home pretty bad, he's doing awesome! They took him off the ventilator yesterday! He's been doing really well breathing on his own. I called this morning to check on him (we came home yesterday) and they said he's doing great and had a huuuuge poopie diaper! His first one...awweee how cute lol. No but really it's a great thing because it means his intestines are starting to "wake up". The next step would be taking out the Anderson tube, which is the one going into his stomach sucking out the air and stomach secretions. As soon as that starts looking like it's not sucking much out, they'll know his digestive system is really doing it's job and moving along. And then they can start giving him milk! They've also cut back his fentynal (I'm pretty sure I spelled that wrong) so he won't be as sedated. I can't wait to see him today! I'll try to post new pics tonight :-) Thanks for everyones prayers. We couldn't be more happy with his progress....he's an amazing baby!!!

So today they were going to do the surgery to attach a protective silo to cover Branston's parts. They had been covered by just gauze before. What happens is they put the silo on and tighten it as needed to help the little parts go back into place in his abdomen. So He went into surgery and we waited to talk to the surgeon to see how things went. Afterwards we asked him how it went and he says "things went well. We didn't need the silo. Everything is back in". WHAT?!!! Can you believe that?!!??!! Here we were prepared for this to be this huge long process and they fixed him! I know we're not out of the woods yet. He'll be on a ventilator until his abdomen stretches some so that there's not so much pressure on his lungs. But omg we are SOOOOOOO happy and excited that they were able to do that! Someone is definitely watching out for our little angel. Look at the pictures above. In the first one you can see the omphalocele is wrapped with gauze and is about the size of an orange. The next pic is after surgery, bump gone! YAAAY BABY BEAR! I'm so glad for the amazing team at Primary's helping our baby!

Well if I thought my anxiety was bad last night...it was nothing compared to this morning! For those women who prefer c-sections, more power to ya, but I cannot for the life of me figure out why lol. Seriously I'm in so much more pain than my other two. And that to me was just creepy feeling like someone is rearranging your insides! It took quite a bit longer than I thought it would. On TV it always looks like such a quick procedure. But... once I heard little Branston's cute little cry all was ok :-)
He was born at 11:24 this morning weighing 6lbs 14oz. I don't even know his length! They rushed him away before I could see him but then brought him to me about an hour later so I could see him before they took him over to Primary's. He seemed so uncomfortable with all the tubes down his throat, in his veins and in his nose. I felt so bad that I couldn't comfort the poor little honey :-( I felt so much better when we (Jared, Taysen, Braylee, my parents & His mom & Bro) to see Branston at the NICU & Primary Childrens and he was sleeping peacefully. He looked all comfy with a soft blanky under him. I was just so worried he'd be uncomfortable the whole time. Anyways, he's doing really well and I just can't wait until we can take him home :-) We don't know how long it will be yet but I'm just so thankful that he's here and healthy and doing so well!

Wow, it's kind of weird knowing I'm getting sliced open and baby taken out tomorrow. A common procedure but a creepy thought. Labor can be painful but at least when it comes, it comes and I don't get much anxiety over it! I'm excited to see our baby though! I'm pretty sure I'll have lots of free time to blog while in recovery :-) Next bloggy minus the bump~! Woo HOO! I can't wait to meet baby bear!

Well now that I've been given and extra week before all the madness begins, I thought it would be fun to have the girls come over for dessert this weekend and give my mom a chance to show off her awesome Silpada Designs while she's here in Utah! At the hospital tonight they monitored baby's heart rate from about 6pm to 9pm. I got a fun shot of steroids in the bum (ouchie!) and a lovely "pelvic exam" to make sure I wasn't going in to labor because I was having some contractions. But hey all is good now! Tomorrow I need to go to my OB and get another one of the lovely steroid shots and also schedule the c-section for next week. They said I do NOT have to get another amnio (thank goodness, those needles are huge!)so I guess he'll for sure be here next week! I think he knew I didn't have the rooms switched yet (I'm moving him into Braylee's room and moving her to another room)and he was like "um no mom, I'm not coming into this world with out my room ready". Hmmm... I better get on that this week! :-)

Latest on baby bear

SO.... here I sit in a hospital bed and the U of U hospital. Thank goodness for hubby being here with me and a laptop to keep us occupied!
Today we went to UVRMC to get the amnio to see if baby bears lungs are ready for him to enter this world. As we waited for the results we got another non-stress test. His heart rate kept dipping and it concerned them so they kept us there quite a while. After being there almost 3 hrs we find out the amnio shows his lungs aren't quite ready and they are worried the omphalocele is putting pressure on the umbilical cord causing his heart rate to drop. So they sent us here to the U of U so they can watch his heart rate and I'm getting a shot of steroids to help his lungs develop. For now I'm not sure when he'll be coming. His heart rate seems to be doing better now. I'll give an update if possible as soon as we know more!

July 10th was Braylee's birthday and we had a little party for her with her friends the following weekend. It was so cute to see them all playing and splashing in the water together! Poor little Jake was the only boy besides Tays. Thanks for being a good sport Jake! Well it will give him practice since he has an older sister and his mom is pregnant with twin girls! Hey maybe I'll post Taysen's August b-day pics by October :-)

Had another appointment with the peri and we will be getting an amnio Sept. 9th. If baby's lungs are ready we'll have a c-section Sept. 10th and start the process of fixing our little one! Wooo hooo! OK I have a tired two year old tornado causing mayhem so L8R SKATER!! :-)

Wellll... I'm a dork and I haven't posted an update about baby bear I think since the amnio! At the last visit to the perinatologist the ultrasound showed his abdomen was only measuring a week behind, which is very good news! With the omphalocele a big problem is that the baby's abdomen doesn't grow big enough to hold the organs since some are on the outside. And it takes a while for the abdomen to slowly stretch big enough to put the organs back in... SO, I'm hoping that with the 2 to 6 months they told us to expect him to be in the NICU, that maybe it will be more on the 2 month end...or less :-) We'll be getting another amnio at 37 weeks to check and see if his lungs are completely developed and if they are he'll be making an early arrival!
Ok, so I know before I had said I was going to go blog crazy posting pics. But the thing is, I think the last pictures I put on my computer sent it to it's breaking point. That and the new virus protection. Yeah my computer is being a freak. But as soon as we get it all figured out, I promise a 2nd birthday, a call to 911 (all is well no worries hehe), and a bunch of other stuff!

We had gone to get frozen yogurt and Braylee fell asleep on the way there. After being woken up from sleeping for about 10 minutes she was not a happy girl! I love how Ellie is looking at here like "dude...what's your deal?" HA HA HA!

My sweet friend Bec & I took a mini vaca to St. Geo for a few days. It was a nice little getaway. Taysen didn't get to go which was a bummer because he was in a summer reading class the entire month of June and he couldn't miss.
Ash was there that same week and she was kind enough to show us some pretty cool parks while we were there. Thanks Bec & Ash for a great few days! Love u guys!

It seems like Jare is ALWAYS working. It's always so nice when we actually get some family time together. Last month we went to the zoo. The zoo is cool but it's one of those things I'm fine with doing just once a year. I was just glad to be spending time with my little family :-)

SO.. I know I shouldn't have this icky feeling towards another person...but... Why do some people think they have the right to just help them self to other peoples things?
A couple of days ago I went to the hospital for an ultrasound. You'd think that's a pretty safe place yah? Well as I got out of my car I was talking on the phone (my bad) and pushed the lock button on my remote. The battery is starting to go bad, and since I was dumby head and yacking on my phone, I didn't stop and pay attention to make sure it locked. When I came back to my car and hr or so later, I went to put on my sunglasses and could find them no where. I called back to the hospital to ask if I had left them there...nope. Then the next morning I was going to carpool and park my car, so Jared told me to take the navigation system out of the car so it wouldn't get ripped off. Yah, that's when I realized that was gone too. Seriously this makes me SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ANGRY!!!! Thieves are #1 on my poopy list and dumb drivers are #2 lol.
To top it all off, it couldn't have been one of my 3 cheapo mall sunglasses OH NO! It had to be the freaking Dolce & Gabbana's Jared got me for Christmas! :-( Sadness. Oh how'd I'd love to find that thief and give him/her a piece of my mind!!!

I've been wanting to chop my hair for years...but hubby is more a fan of long hair. He knows I've been wanting to cut it for a while and he said "why don't you just go short for the summer?" So a few days later off came like 10 inches of hair haha :-) I was kind of going for the Lauren Conrad hair...Now if I could only have her makeup artist too! Don't mind how I look ug in these pics hehe It's so much harder to flat iron now at this length! I love it though! I"m sooooo glad to have all that dead stringy hair gone lol

Anniversary and Birthday!!

Today is Jared's 31st birthday. Happy birthday HUB!!! I love you!!!
And the 21st was Jared's and my 3rd anniversary! It's gone by sooooo fast but at the same time it feels like we've been together forever! ....if that makes sense :-) So much has happened. Babies, jobs, houses, vacations. It's definitely been the best 3 years of my life, with all the crazy ups and downs. Just like I tell him, I'm looking forward to all the years to come and seeing him old and wrinkled one day :-)

Today the genetic counselor called and her first words were "I have good news!" Just what I wanted to hear of course!! She said the preliminary results of the amnio (it's done in 2 parts) show our baby boy does NOT have abnormal chromosomes!!! So needless to say we are sooooooo soo sOOOOOOO HAPPY!!!! Thanks for everyones prayers :-)

Baby Update

OK ... So we were supposed to have the big 5 month ultrasound on the 7th, but they canceled it because it was at the Dr's office and they said we need to have all our ultrasounds with the perinatologist at the hospital now. So yesterday was that appointment. Baby's heart & brain.... everything look good. BUT... they found that the liver is involved in the omphalocele. This means it's going to be a more timely process to fix our little honey when he's born. The perinatologist also suggested that if we did want to get an amniocentesis we do it now. She said after 24 weeks (I'm close to 22 weeks) the chance of it putting me into labor is higher. But if we wait to far into the pregnancy I could end up having the baby before even getting the results and it would end up being a lost cause. We really want to know for sure if baby has a chromosomal defect so that we can plan the delivery and all. It's kind of complicated... If he does have the chromosome disorder they won't even do the surgery. Needless to say, we did the amnio yesterday. I'm feeling fine now. And you'd think I'd be going nuts waiting for the results, but I'm not. I think Ive waited so long that what's a few more days? Plus I just have a good feeling, I think he's going to be ok :-)

Since I've been pregos I have a little more up top of you know what I mean....Which is definitely not usually the case! The other night Braylee was in her highchair and I leaned down to talk to her, evidently giving her a good "view". She pointed at my temporary cleavage and said "bum bum!" Then my friend Cassie who has cleavage that's not temporary came over...and the first thing Braylee said when Cass picked her up of course was "bum bum!" as she's pointing at her cleavage HA HA HA :-) Let's just hope she doesn't do it in the grocery store to some lady I don't know. Could you just see it? "Bum bum!" as she pointing at some very offended lady!
Oh yah.... and THEN Jared told me that he had his arm bent and Braylee pointed at the crease of skin by his elbow and said "wee wee!" (that's what she calls her girl part). She cracks me up! :-)

Yesterday was soooooo nice. We went to the park with some friends. It was nice to be out and see blossoms and flowers... I'm so sick of dead brown stick trees! HAHA

I spent the majority of the time chasing Braylee around. That is until I got smart and broke out the stroller :-) There's a pond at the park we were at and she kept heading straight for it! She did have fun on the slide and swing for a short while. Taysen had fun "catching tadpoles" and "fishing" with his friend Trevan.

Well we have decided to hold off on the amnio. I think we will definitely do it, just farther along in the pregnancy. So far baby looks good on ultrasound. No visible defects other than the omphalocele. I know that doesn't rule out trisomy 13 or 18, but it definitely gives us hope! We have the big 5 month ultrasound scheduled for May 7th and that will tell us a lot more because he'll be more developed. Thanks so much everyone for prayers and kind words :-)

Last Wednesday Jared, Braylee and I went to find out the gender of our baby. While doing the ultrasound an abnormality was found. We were told it was most likely either a Gastroschisis or Omphalocele. They got us into the neonatologist and genetic counselor yesterday and confirmed it is an Omphalocele. The Omphalocele itself is treatable with surgery right after the baby is born. But the thing we are the most worried about is that there is a 30% chance our baby may have trisomy 13 or trisomy 18 which are severe chromosomal disorders. Here is a website with more info on it:

The only way we can know for sure if our baby has one of these chromosomal defects is if we get an amniocentesis. They told us if we get an amnio there is a .5% chance the baby could miscarry. The chance is small, but it's still there. So we are torn and don't know whether to get the procedure done or not. If is had the chromosome problem, they won't do the surgery. If the baby will only be here for a short time we just want to make peace with it before he gets here...but is it worth it? Or to prepare for a long road in the NICU after surgery(I hope so!). So far I've heard of 2 people I know getting and amnio with no complications. I'd just like to hear of anyone you know has gotten one and what was the outcome.

This morning before I had the chance to open the shutters/blinds I get an phone call.... It was the automated system from Taysen's school. The message says "due to extreme road conditions, buses will not be picking up children at Traverse Mountain or Suncrest. If you feel you can get your child to school safely, school will still be in session. Children who can not make it will be excused from school today". Um Hellooooo it's April! I open the shutters and sure enough icy roads...ugh. Jared was at work and told me SR 92 was closed. OK.... Let's just remember the last time SR 92 was shut down: Let's just make a long story short (as possible lol) and say Taysen was stuck on his bus for about 6 hours while it was stuck on SR 92. We tried for hours to get to Ridgeline Elementary ....We had to go a really round about way. It was hard because the drifts were so bad we could hardly tell where we were! We finally arrived at his school at 8:00 p.m. I found his teacher and she tells me his bus wasn't back yet... But I didn't even know he was stuck on a bus! I thought he was at the school! His bus finally got back to the school about 9:30 p.m. We let him run around the school and eat...you know just kind of get his wiggles out after being couped up for so long. The news crews were at his school and the kids thought it was pretty cool. A lot of kids that night ended up staying the night at the school. We heard Traverse Mountain was shut down so we stayed at our friends parents house in Alpine. Luckily it was only about 5 minutes from Taysen's school! What is with this winter curse this year??!!!!
Anyways...I'm thankful the sun is out now and melting that icky ice. And no snow drifts were involved this time :-)

The family decals on vehicles

....ok so I hope this doesn't seem rude, and I'm sorry if any of you have them, but what is up with the little family decals on the back windows of like half the minivans and SUV's in UT county? You know it has the mom, dad, kids and even the pets. I mean this trend is just as bad as the Calvin peeing on something sticker in the late 90's-early 00's. Remember? Calvin peeing on the Chevy emblem, or Ford. And later, Calvin the NY fire fighter peeing on Saddam. Hey how about a new one...I'm going to put a sticker of Calvin peeing on the little family decals on the back of my car :-) LOL
